Todays Quote: “Stars hide your fires, Let not light see my black and deep desires”- William Shakespear, Macbeth.

I don’t think I can really explain why I love this quote so much; maybe its the juxtaposition of the light and dark, or maybe it the personification of the stars. I don’t really know. But something about it is beautiful.

It the beginning of Macbeth’s downfall, the realisation that he could get what he wants and the beginning of the corruption of a moral and valiant hero. It doesn’t take much to get Macbeth to become the villain (if you count witches and prophecies as ‘not much’) and that’s something that resonates with us all – offer us a little bit of power and our greed will overtake us.
